The woman introduces herself as Arianna, Captain of the Royal Household Guard of the King of Pallamos. She explains that Pallmos lies a long way over the seas to the south. When the old King, who she had served loyally since she was a girl, died, his young heir, Prince Kaddos, who was 14, vanished. With no heir the King's financial advisor, Malakar assumed stewardship of the throne. She believes the Malakar arranged for the disposal of Prince Kaddos and has spent the last five years travelling the world looking for the young Prince. She has uncovered information suggesting that Malakar's attempts to have Prince the killed failed and that the Prince was captured by slavers and disappeared. After a long search she has tracked the Prince to Sanctuary. She believes that he is being held by an organisation known only as the Black Fist, a nefarious and shadowy organisation who involve themselves in all kinds of evil activities.
She believes that they maintain a couple of houses in Sanctuary and that Prince Kaddos is being held in one of them. She also believes that the Black Fist have discovered the identity of the Prince and are probably hoping to make some money out of Malakor, either by returning the Prince to him or killing the Prince. Either way, she says that time is vital. Ariann stumbled across an old tome In Ilops that contains information about the Black Fist, including a map to the houses they were rumoured to maintain in Sanctuary. She asks the group to help, suggesting that Prince Kaddos can make them very rich one he is returned to his throne.
F'Nard rejoins the group at this point. He has teamed up with a barbarian from the mountains to the north who is allowed to join the group. Nordheimer is a male human barbarian (played by Warren D).
The group agrees to help Arianna. They investigate the book and the city and eventually discover that the Black Fist have long since lost interest in Sanctuary and moved on. Only two of their properties remain in the city - a shop run by a wizened old man with a strange lizard creature on his shoulder which appears to sell worthless tat, and the second story of a building that seems to have no visible entrances. The group comes to conclusion that a tunnel must link the two and attacks the shop. The old man, as they suspected, is a spell caster. The lizard is a shocker lizard and a fierce battle ensues. The group defeats the old man and uncovers the tunnel they suspected existed.
The tunnel ends in a spiral staircase. The group ascends the staircase to discover a lever halfway up which they pull. What the group doesn't know at this point is that the spiral staircase is trapped so that the stairs collapse sending anyone on it tumbling to the bottom. The lever disables the trap but only for a short space of time. They ascend to the top and find a room with several well armed guards in it. Isabel, Finchy, F'Nard and Nordheimer get into the room but then the trap resets, which sends Snake, Arianna and Scathe tumbling to the bottom. The four in the room are outnumbered and the fight goes badly for them. Nordheimer, Finchy and F'Nard are killed. Isabel is badly injured but manages to escape by sliding down the still trapped stairs before she meets a similar fate.
Isabel restores some of her injuries with a headling potion and the remaining members decide to try their luck again. They ascend the stairs, pulling the lever on their way past. Arianna makes it into the room but Snake, who is behind her, gets blocked in the doorway. Snake is badly injured and on the point of death when the trap resets sending him, Scathe and Isabel back to the bottom. The group realises that to try again would be suicide and departs, leaving Arianna to her fate.
