Raith and myself were called to the realm gate at the Black Nexus in Anvilgard. We were informed that a city called the Greywater Fastness in the realm of Gyram which produced weapons for Sigmar's armies had stopped the supply and there had been no contact with the city. We were asked to investigate and were to travel through a realm gate to Fort Festermire which co-existed in the realms of Gyram and Aquashi. Passage would be assigned to us on a Cog FortHarbingerOfTrouble to Greywater Fastness.

We passed through the gate from Anvilgard into the desert realm of Aquashi outside Fort Festermere and spoke with Captain Terzo Heinz of the Cogfort Harbinger Of Trouble who informed us the trip to Greywater Fastness would take about five days. We were introduced to a human called George who worked on the Cog Fort and would be assigned to work with us. Wethen met with a Lord Ordinator who ran Fort Festermere on Aquashi. He opened the realm gate and the Cog Fort moved through. Beyond the realm gate was a mirror image of fort Festermere. Another Lord Ordinator called Larrisia Stareye was waiting. She ran Fort Festermere on Gyram. The fort was mostly empty and the land was teeming with life. The cog fort quickly left for Greywater Fastness.

During the first day we saw seven Rot Flies in the trees which had been slain by giant arrows. On the second day I saw two objects falling from the sky which looked like giant seed pods. The captain ordered everyone below decks as more started falling. The captain said they were seedfall blooms which sprouted when they landed and they could sprout into anyone who was hit by one. One person was indeed hit and needed quick medical action to remove the growth before it spread. On day three we saw a large dead Bullgore being eaten by lizards.

Overnight there was an attack by Skaven. We were woken by gunfire from the observation deck and when we went up to the observation deck we found two Stormvermin, one of which was already dead on the deck, and another six swinging in from the trees. The observation deck was cleared, but a Stormfiend forced its way through the rear cargo door with a Warlock Engineer. The power core of the cog fort was damaged and I had to magically levitate it outside before it exploded and destroyed the cog fort. The Skaven were defeated but the Cog Fort was disabled due to the loss of its power core.

The captain gathered the survivors and we all set off on foot towards the Greywater Fastness. Raith and George scouted ahead and found a pile of dead animals which had been mostly transformed into a wood like material. There were also large blue and white feathers nearby. As they continued they were attacked by a Cyclestone Cockatrice. It blinded George before Raith killed it. I healed George then we continued. Raith and George were scouting ahead when a huge herd of bullgores came crashing through the jungle. George was trampled as they stampeded past and needed healing again.

We continued until we came to a river. The civilians were tired and so we rested. George was on lookout when three Tzaangor Shaman on flying disks flew over, and we were awoken by George firing a shot at them. I recognised them as worshipers of the chaos god Tzeench and blasted one from the sky. They fired magical attacks back but I unbound the worst of it. We then quickly killed the other two. We continued and reached the edge of a swamp called Ghoulmere just as dusk fell.Ghoulmere We were told the swamp was formed from the toxic waste runoff from the industrial activities of the city.

We camped overnight. George spotted a Duardin burial cairn and Raith spotted a Sylvernethi Branchwych watching the camp, though it moved off. During my watch a patch of forest started to bloom then die. Some sudden burst of natural life the jungle was known for.

The day was less eventful than the previous and nothing of note occurred until the afternoon when a procession of swaying blue lights were seen heading towards some buildings. The buildings formed a decrepit overgrown village. Raith went to the village to investigate and was attacked by a Chainrasp.Chainrasp His sword passed through it so he backed off only to have another emerge from the well behind him. I quickly destroyed them using magic.

We continued and it started raining. The rain was yellow and burned when it touched us. We quickly took cover and waited for an hour for it to pass. We then continued until the ground started getting wetter and it started getting dark, at which point we made camp. Overnight a huge and badly damaged Sylvenethi approached the camp. It was called Charred Yew and said we were on the edge of a great danger. It said it was an outcast from its people and that Greywater Fastness was under siege by Skaven. It wanted us to leave and said it did not want violence but left when we refused. We returned to sleep and a while later Raith heard an explosion in the distance and saw smoke rising in the direction of the Greywater Fastness. During my watch a rainbow aura appeared in the sky. I surmised it was related to the acid clouds and was harmless.

The following day we continued towards the Greywater Fastness. Suddenly George saw a clawed hand rising from the ground. He shot it and it disappeared, leaving a splattering of tree sap. The other survivors were reluctant to continue but Raith persuaded them. Later I noticed my dagger was missing, and others were also missing items. There was tree sap left where the items had been, so likely the thefts were by whatever was on the end of the hand George shot. Greywater FastnessAs we approached the Greywater Fastness we heard sounds of battle. There was a wood and stone bridge across the river and an open swamp beyond which surrounded the Greywater Fastness. A huge hoard of Skaven were attacking with war machines. Glowing blue lights lined the road and bridge.

George made a disgusting smelling stew which Raith placed to distract the Skaven nearby allowing us to get to an overgrown canal and lockkeepers cottage near the wall. Inside we found a flare, some grudge raker rifles and an apothecaries satchel. Captain Heinz used the flare to signal the defenders on the wall but also attracted the attention of some Skaven. We fought and killed then though the captain was injured. The city defenders then opened the gate to allow us into the city where we were met by Corporal Steelwater. She welcomed us and stated the siege by the Skaven was nearly broken. In due course the Skaven dispersed.

A few days later there was a huge explosion which destroyed the Coldrock ironworks in the city and many people were killed. We rescued a few people before the local fire fighters arrived. A coach house next to the ironworks had survived and there were the bodies of a Skaven and Duardin inside. They both had been stabbed, possibly by each other. There was also a Skaven explosive device in the coach house so George started disarming it with my help. He was partly successful. It did not explode but it discharged a burst of energy into him which stunned him.

Skaven MapA map was found on the Skaven which appeared to show the sewers under the city.  On the map was marked the Powder keg lane watchhouse, Hammer and Anvil social club, a bar called Orruks regret, and the Ironweld Anvils of industry. We went to the Hammer and Anvil. A mob was outside who did not want us to enter so Raith intimidated them until they let us pass. Inside two people were putting one of the bombs in a sack. There was movement from the attic so Raith went up to evacuate them. He found four people with three dead Skaven in sacks. Everyone was cleared from the building before George disarmed the bomb.

We then went to the Ironweld Anvils of industry. A guard was argumentative but eventually took us to Gulben Goldrock who ran the Anvils. As we were warning him we heard two explosions which blew holes in the floor, and Skaven crawled out. We killed some, but one fired a weapon which hit Raith. Two more huge Skaven then burst up through the floor. It was an extremely tough fight and the Skaven inflicted a lot of damage before they were killed.

We were resting when Raith received a message saying "The hand market 1 hour". We met someone called Anastasia Everlark in an alley. She wanted our help as we were new to the city and not with any of the city factions. She was the Leader of a group called the Cherished Wheel gardeners. Sylvenethi were considered suspicious by many of the citizens, and she wanted help smuggling one out of the city. We followed her to a disused house where we climbed to the roof then down into the attic. The Sylvinethi needing assistance was there. It was badly injured, missing fingers and its left leg had been sawn off below the knee. Its name was Mottled Leaf, a Driad who had been tortured. Three of them had been captured and had been imprisoned in a dark room. A voice had been heard saying they were suitable, sounds of people cheering and sounds of distressed cattle before it succeeded in escaping by cutting its leg off. A Branchwych would be able to regrow it if it was returned to other Sylvenethi. Livestock was only kept in the hand market in the Greywater Fastness.

I cast prophesy and learned there were four possible routes to smuggle the Sylvanethi out of the city. We could rely on corruption of the humans, take to the air but to beware of guns, to use the Magpies nest, or seek out the elf who is both metal and water, presumably a reference to corporal Steelwater.

We met with corporal Steelwater who was sympathetic. She said to meet her at the Hammer and Anvil social club where she would turn off the sewer outflow so we could use the sewers to take the Sylvenethi out of the city. We went back to collect the Sylvanethi and found the Greycaps were watching the street. I used Sigmars storm to move the Sylvanethi and Anastasia from the attic while Raith distracted the Greycaps, then flew the Sylvanethi to near the Hammer and Anvil while the others made their own way there. We met corporal Steelwater and she lead us into the sewers. While passing through the sewers three Stormvermin attacked, wounding corporal Steelwater. We continued until the sewer exited into the Ghoulmere. The Sylvanethi wanted to continue with only Anastasia so we left them and returned to the city.

The following morning we went to the market to look for where the Sylvanethi had been tortured. There was a butchers shop but no sign of a fighting pit. The butcher said cattle were held outside the Greygate and slaughtered there, and there was a dwelling called Briannas farm about half a day outside the city which also had livestock. We left to pay the farm a visit. The farm was well defended with stockages and ballistae. Inside was a statue of some winged creature. Brinna said it was there when she arrived and the farm used to be a military outpost. I sensed a magical essence centred on the statue which was on the epicentre where two lay lines crossed. The lines appeared red to my magical sight. I also sensed magic from the store shed.

There were worn sigils round the base of the statue and Raith noticed scuff marks on the floor of Briannas cabin which she attempted to conceal. When she was not looking he looked under the rug and saw a trapdoor. Brianna was acting suspiciously and suddenly ordered the ballista on the walls to open fire on us. As she did so a Khorgorath burst out of the storage shed and the soldiers started chanting 'Blood for the blood god' as I cast Sigmars storm to take myself and Raith up to the battlements next to a ballista. Raith attacked the soldier manning it, killing him, then turning the ballista on the soldier operating the other ballista, skewering him and flinging him off the wall. Then he turned the ballista on the Khorgorath causing it to cry in pain and fury.

The commander who was called Grick fired at Raith, hitting him. I hit Grick with arcane bolts, killing him, then cast Sigmars storm again to move us away from the Khorgorath who had started ripping down the wall below us. Raith continued shooting it with a ballista. The Khorgorath started climbing up to us so I moved us again then hit Brianna with an Arcane bolt, killing her as Raith continued firing a ballista at the Khorgorath. It was proving extremely tough as it had been hit by many ballista bolts but refused to die. It jumped over the gap to us and attacked me. We continued and it still would not die. It appeared to be drawing power from the statue so we focused our attacks on the statue, and when it was destroyed the Khorgorath rippled then exploded. Two of the soldiers were still alive and fled.

We investigated the trap door Raith found. A set of stairs descended to a small shrine. Raith found a journal which revealed she hated Skaven and Sylvanethi and started worshiping Khorne to fuel her hatred. She had replaced the pioneers with cultists and sold captured Skaven to Gulben Coldrock for weapon experimentation when she needed funds. Coldrock and Astrid Tavere were described as gullible fools. After further searching we found a fighting pit. We destroyed everything related to Korne then returned to the city with the remaining cattle which we sold.
